Search For Discount Used Cars
In the modern Internet enabled world finding discount used cars is easier than it’s ever been. eBay, Yahoo and other sites make it simple to find and compare features such as price, gas mileage and others. Avoid the sucker bets by keeping a few things in mind.
Not everything on the Internet is true. People trust newspapers too much, and the same goes for the web. People can lie in magazines and books. The Internet is no different. Promises can be fabricated, as can proof of those promises. The same predators that run shady used car lots can get onto the InternetShady car dealers use the Internet too. But now the buyer can’t see their cheap suit, smell their cheap cologne, or get a glimpse of the bad condition of the cars or the facility. Programs such as Photoshop allow dings and dents to be taken out of car images. And all too often people purchase used cars online, as is, without taking any of the usual used car buying precautions. Not everyone is dishonest, but be careful.
Always have a used car inspected by a good mechanic. Test drive it with a stop at a garage. Get a mechanic to take a look for you if you won’t see the car before the deal is complete. There are plenty of independent garages that will perform vehicle inspections. Never rely on the word of the dealer. Make sure someone not related to the seller looks it over. For under $50 you can avoid problems that could cost thousands, including the money spent on the used car purchase price.
Don’t haggle monthly payments, negotiate price. Force the salesman to reveal the price, not just your monthly installments. Do not use the dealers’ finance company, either, because that’s another way for them to add in extra that pushes up the real price of the used car. Pay cash or find your own loan. The price should be discounted for a cash buy.
Cheap used cars aren’t impossible. Buyers aren’t on their own when looking. But it’s true for used cars just as it is for anything, if a deal looks too good to be true it is.
